An article I wrote for Arms Control Today about the filming locations for the movie Oppenheimer. The locations chosen for the Manhattan Project played a pivotal role in the story of the atomic bomb. Not casting the landscape accurately erases an important detail from the film’s portrayal of the development of the world’s most lethal weapon.

Over the eight-month Creative Capsule Residency, a personal quandary about the links between the rock climbing community and nuclear weapons evolved into a documentary film project.

During Cohort 3 of the N Square Innovation Fellowship, Atomsphere was created to find new ways to engage the outdoor recreation community with nuclear risk reduction issues by highlighting the threat nuclear weapons pose to the environment and their way of life. Click the image to see our video!
